Movement at the Mall

November 24th 2018, Yorkdale Mall

Movement at the Mall lead by Lauren Runions examined proximity, invited sensory walks and practiced playful movement experiments throughout the shopping centre. This workshop examined Yorkdale Mall as a gathering place to share experience and navigate space together. This free workshop was open to all dance abilities.

This workshop was part of the YORKDALE COMMUNITY ATLAS, Daniel Rotsztain’s project for Art Starts' inaugural ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE program. Throughout the fall, Daniel has been mapping the non-commercial elements of Yorkdale, exploring the mall’s central role in Toronto’s social life.
